An anniversary quiz that tells their story

Twenty-five, forty or fifty years together deserves more than a speech. With PubquizTV, family and friends play a live TV-style quiz about the couple: the big screen tells their story with photos and questions, teams answer on their phones, and the couple themselves take centre stage. It works just as well for a work jubilee or a club anniversary.

Their story in five rounds

An anniversary quiz is at its best when it follows the years. A structure that works for most couples:

  1. 1How it began: where they met, the proposal, the wedding day.
  2. 2Margaret or David? Questions the couple answers live on stage.
  3. 3The family years: children, pets, holidays, the house that was never quite finished.
  4. 4The world in their wedding year: music, prices and news, so younger guests can join in too.
  5. 5Finale: an estimate question (“How many days have they been married?”) and a photo reveal of the wedding photo.

Fifteen to twenty-five questions take roughly 45 to 60 minutes. Need inspiration? Read our 40+ anniversary quiz questions.

The couple on stage

The highlight of most anniversary quizzes is the round where teams guess what the couple will answer. Ask “Who says sorry first after an argument?”, let Margaret and David answer out loud on stage, and only then click their answer. Teams that predicted it correctly score points, and the room usually has an opinion about every answer.

💡 Hand the couple a microphone and let them discuss before they answer. Show an interlude screen such as “Margaret & David, come to the front!” to call them up.

Old photos, new life

Scan or photograph a few old prints and use them as photo questions: “Where was this picture taken?” or “Who is the young man with the moustache?”. A photo reveal shows the image bit by bit, which is a lovely way to end the evening with the original wedding photo. Ask the children or grandchildren to collect photos and facts; as co-hosts they can add questions themselves.

Easy for every generation

Nobody needs to install anything. Teams scan a QR code and answer in their phone's browser, and one phone per team is enough, so grandparents can simply team up with a grandchild. You need a laptop connected to the TV or projector, internet and sound. Build and test for free; unlock the party for €59 when you are ready, with 90 days of access and up to 30 teams. See pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Is this suitable for older guests?+

Yes. The questions are big and clear on the TV, and teams answer on one shared phone. Put at least one confident phone user in each team and everyone can join in.

Can the couple play along?+

They usually get a starring role instead: guess-the-couple questions let them answer live on stage while the teams try to predict their answer.

We have only a few facts. Is that enough?+

Mix personal questions with questions about their wedding year and with estimate questions. The AI interview helps you turn the facts you have into questions, and it never invents facts of its own.

Can I use it for a work jubilee too?+

Certainly. The same approach works for 25 years at a company or a club anniversary: replace the love story with the career or the club history.

What does it cost?+

Building and testing is free with up to 3 teams. Unlocking one party costs a one-off €59 for 90 days. Organising another party within a year costs €39.
