Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every use of PubquizTV, the web app that turns your party into a live quiz show. Please read them before you pay. In short: you pay once per party, there is no subscription, you are responsible for what you upload, and we do our best to keep everything running smoothly. How we handle personal data is explained in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

1. Who we are

PubquizTV is offered by [Company name], established in the Netherlands.

2. Definitions

• •Host: the person who creates an account and builds a party.
• •Guest: someone who joins a party on their phone as part of a team.
• •Party: a quiz built by a host, with its questions, photos, audio, teams, answers and scores.
• •Access period: the period during which an unlocked party can be edited and played.
• •Consumer: a natural person who is not acting for purposes of their trade, business or profession.

3. Your account

1. 1You log in with your email address only: we send you a login link and a 6-digit code. There are no passwords.
2. 2You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
3. 3Keep your mailbox secure: anyone who can read your email can also log in to your account.
4. 4You can delete your account yourself at any time on your account page. This immediately deletes your account and all parties you own.

4. Free drafts and paid access

1. 1You can build a party for free as a draft. Drafts have limitations, for example in the number of teams; you can see them in the app.
2. 2A one-off payment of €59 unlocks one party for 90 days, for up to 30 teams.
3. 3You can extend the access period of a party by 30 days for €19.
4. 4All prices include VAT. The price shown at checkout applies.
5. 5There is no subscription and no automatic renewal. You only pay when you choose to unlock or extend a party.
6. 6Payments are handled by our payment provider Stripe, which also issues the invoice. We never see your card details.

5. Right of withdrawal (consumers)

As a consumer buying online, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase without giving a reason. For digital content such as an unlocked party, it works like this:

1. 1As long as your party has not been unlocked, the right of withdrawal applies in full. Email us at hello@pubquiztv.app within 14 days of your purchase with a clear statement that you are withdrawing. We refund the full amount within 14 days, using the same payment method.
2. 2At checkout we ask you to tick a box to confirm that you want access to start immediately and that you understand you thereby lose your right of withdrawal once the party has been unlocked (article 6:230p of the Dutch Civil Code; article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU).
3. 3Once your party has been unlocked, the right of withdrawal therefore no longer applies. We confirm this choice in the confirmation email of your purchase.
4. 4Business customers do not have a right of withdrawal.

6. Our promise if something goes wrong

Even without a right of withdrawal: if your quiz could not be played because of a technical failure on our side, contact us at hello@pubquiztv.app. We will look into it and refund your payment.

7. Your content

You decide what goes into your party: questions, photos, audio and team names. That also makes you responsible for it.

1. 1Only upload content you are allowed to use. Ask the people in your photos for permission. You decide which photos of your guests you show, so that responsibility is yours.
2. 2Be careful with children: do not add full names or photos of children without their parents' consent.
3. 3Music: playing music at a private party at home is usually fine. At a venue (such as a café, restaurant or hall) the venue's music licence applies; check with the venue.
4. 4No illegal, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise harmful content, and nothing that infringes the rights of others.
5. 5Your content remains yours. You allow us to store, process and show it only as far as needed to provide PubquizTV to you, for example on the big screen and on your guests' phones.
6. 6If we receive a well-founded complaint, or see that content breaks these terms, we may remove that content. In case of abuse we may suspend or close the account. Where reasonable, we tell you why.

8. Guests

Guests do not need an account. They only enter a team name and choose an emoji. To keep them in their team, a random team ID is stored in their browser for up to one year. Guests' team names, answers and scores are part of your party and are deleted together with it. Read more in our privacy policy.

9. Fair use

• •Do not try to disrupt, overload or hack PubquizTV, or to access other people's parties or accounts.
• •Do not use PubquizTV to send spam or to collect other people's data.
• •Do not copy or resell PubquizTV itself without our permission.

10. Availability and maintenance

We do our best to keep PubquizTV available and working well, especially during your party. We cannot guarantee an uninterrupted or error-free service: the internet, devices and third-party services can fail. Sometimes maintenance is needed; we plan it at quiet moments as much as possible. You take care of a working internet connection, a screen and phones yourself.

11. After the access period

When the access period of a party ends, the party becomes read-only. You can still view and download it for 90 days. After that, the party is deleted, including its questions, uploads, teams and answers. Drafts that were never unlocked are deleted after 12 months of inactivity. Download a backup in time if you want to keep anything.

12. Liability

1. 1Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event that caused the damage.
2. 2This limitation does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence on our part, nor where mandatory law (such as consumer law) does not allow it.
3. 3We are not responsible for content uploaded by hosts or guests, nor for damage caused by failures of devices, internet connections or third-party services beyond our control.

13. Intellectual property

PubquizTV itself — the software, design, texts and built-in materials — belongs to [Company name] or its licensors. You may use it for your parties while you have access; you may not copy, sell or reuse it in any other way.

14. Ending the agreement

You can stop using PubquizTV and delete your account at any time. Payments for parties that have already been unlocked are not refunded, except as described in section 6. In case of a serious or repeated breach of these terms, we may suspend or close your account.

15. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We announce material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. If you do not agree, you can delete your account before that date. The date of the latest version is shown on this page.

16. Applicable law and disputes

1. 1These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence.
2. 2Have a complaint? Contact us first at hello@pubquiztv.app; we will look for a solution together.
3. 3Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. As a consumer, you can also go to the court of your place of residence.
4. 4The European online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025, which is why we do not link to it.

17. Language

These terms are available in Dutch, English, French and German. In case of differences the Dutch version prevails.
